Articles and shit

This page will be used for themed musing on various topics, along side some sights and sounds from media related to the topics

Volume 1: Who the fuck is Penny and why is she typing at me!?!?

Well to answer the first question, Hi my names Penny and I'm a 20 something yung and turnt "artist" from Brisbane Australia. To begin to answer the second I will have to take you back, far back, far far back, to the beginning. nah jk, none of that matters, I'm yelling at you via the world wide web because I got sick of yelling at real people and decided that virtual net ghosts could make for more receptive audiences. Each of these incesant ramblings will feature a vague theme or observation I have about the multitude of movies, games, comics and other stuff that I swallow in unhealthy quatities. I expect that no one outside of my most beloved of friends will see this, but in the unlikely case that you are someone else, stay tuned for more of my psuedophilisphical takes about violence in movies and sex on tv.

Volume 2: Blood, Tentacles and Anime Girls or how perverted 80s anime OVAs taught me not to care and love the obscenity of art

Today on one of my frequent delves into the depths of the video hosting platforms of the world, I was blessed with a playlist of 10s of 80s and 90s horror anime OVAs of various obscurity. Naturally as one does I scrolled though and picked one based only on the solitary image of it's thumbnail. In this case I stumbled upon a gem of 1986 Japanese animation known as 'Call Me Tonight' the touching tale of a call girl looking for love, and finding it in the form of a charming young man who has been known to turn into a horrible tentacle beast whenever he is horny. Now to some this premise may be disconcerting, and I understand why, however, in my case, this sounded like nothing short of a Hoot, so I watched eagerly as our protagonist's love interest jerked off, witnessed a vision of an apocolyptic nightmare world, and then transformed into a ghoulish flesh creature. Then again as he got a little too close to some tits and got a nosebleed so major that it flooded the floor of an entire diner, only to once again, tranform into a ghoulish creature. And then again as our female lead Rumi took him by the hand and dragged him through the neon soaked streets of tokyo, enjoying an evening full of monstorous tranformations and festivities, wait thats not horny body horror, maybe there was something genuinely touching here, a story about someone who struggles to engage in sex because of it's associations with violence, and a person who comes into their life and is able to show them that it can be a fun and safe way to share intimacy with someone. Safe to say I was not expecting the lovecraftian boner anime to have a thematic backbone so genuinely tender and meaningful but I'm so glad to find out it did. With the rise of puritanical sentament's amongst the youth of today, I think it's important to treasure the truly meaningful pervert shit, we need more of it. Sex is a part of life, and art is an expression of life, and as such I think much more art should be comfortable expressing the sexual elements of life without fear of judgement and taboo. Ok, I think that enough of me trying to justify spending 30 minutes watching a tentacle creature get horny. I will be watching more of these obscure and weird anime OVAs though because I think there's something very special about the truly authentically weird art of the world and I hope to find much more of it amongst the depths of this playlist.
